The on-line presence of the London Drinker Beer and Cider Festival.

The London Drinkers beer and cider festivals online presence is far from spactacular, particularly as when you type in the festival name on the search engine google, the first thing to appear is a review rather than the official website of the organiser, in this case CAMRA. However one you get onto the page it is easily navigated with plenty of information. It seems to me that this website is more about information rather than amusement. Although heavy in text and website pages are luckily broken up with pictures and links to other websites. http://www.camranorthlondon.org.uk/ as you can see the website is an easy design with other pages down the left hand side. This points towards a slightly older audience who prefer easy to follow websites with no real fuss.

Further evidence of this slightly older audience as a target market can be seen through the festivals Facebook presence. When you search the festival on facebook, you really dont get anywhere i dont even think it has an official facebook page giving people the oppourtunity to like it or better yet share it with their friends thus boosting promotion.

Once again you need to type in the festival organiser CAMRA to get anywhere in terms of a facebook page. However, this page is infact boring with just text and no photos available and with only 6,423 people liking it with just 200 talking about it makes it quite a silent page. This is further proven by the online presence of my other event the Lion King Musical which i will be looking at next.

  1. Good stuff Shane, keep at it - perhaps more on media coverage of these events? And some marketing theory? Best of luck - Alex
