Out of the two events the lion king is by far the superior when it comes to online presence. For example when i type "the lion king musical" into Google search engine, the first three sponsored ads are websites in order to get tickets and the first non sponsored website is the Disney websites link to the lion king musical.
In terms of website entertainment, http://www.disney.co.uk/musicaltheatre/TheLionKing/home/index.jsp is in a league of its own with video preview of the opening song on the lion king. In the video the song is really powerful so live it must be something else. This could also encourage people to go as the song is also well known. People can also skip the video, when they do the main image which states how its an award winning musical. It also gives you a link to the Lyceum Theatre in London and states that its booking till september 2012 along with links to two other theatres. The website also had a wide array of other features. These features include video blogs from the cast, ticket offers a neat section where you can find out where exactly you're sitting and a section about the show, which includes photos, characters and reviews. As for the reviews and rewards, the webpage is certainly not modest with the success of the musical http://www.disney.co.uk/musicaltheatre/TheLionKing/abouttheshow/worldwideawards.jsp. Along with this the site also allows you to watch their videos on youtube and and follow them on networks on twitter and facebook.
Once again out of the two event the lion king musical is superior in terms of facebook popularity with over 740,000 likes and over 13,500 people talking about it.
Today i have arrived in London to take photos of the advertisements for the events. In the underground there are already posters both large and small of the lion king musical.
These last 2 postings need a bit more depth and perhaps some links and screen shots
